Dopamine is actively involved in several local advisory committees. Among other goals, we work to identify local development strategies that promote meaningful exchanges between recent arrivals to the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood and the marginalized communities who have called it home for many years. Our organization is a solid fixture of the area and cultivates strong partnerships with several local institutions and organizations. We are equally involved with regional and national committees in order to adapt our practices relating to harm reduction, prevention of blood-borne and sexually transmitted infections, and social inclusion.
We organize biannual syringe cleanup blitzes. During these events, members, partners, volunteers and the intervention team gather to collect discarded drug use material used to consume drugs in the streets of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. Over the past few years, we have continued to grow and expand our partnerships. To date, we are immensely proud of not only the number, but above all, the quality of partners involved in the many different services we offer in several capacities, including referrals, trainings and promotion of our services. In this regard, our hope at Dopamine is not only for the continued involvement of our current partners, but also for the expansion of our network of collaborators.
